The MAXI has been designed for the serious beader or class application.
Major British beaders and flame workers have been involved in its development to ensure that nothing was over looked.
Unique Lowered floor
The kiln has a unique lower floor that enables the lower row of beads to be inserted at a slight down facing angle. This allows the kiln to house three rows of beads at differing heights on its unique real wall rack. The result is a possible 90 or more beads (size depending) to be annealed without touching each other or having to be moved. Many more if the racks are removed.
The kiln has to service many areas of bead making and so it is designed to mix and match.
The perforated rear wall rack is in 3 pieces and any one can be removed and a lower rack inserted for larger flame work.

The rod stabiliser on the front can be clipped off in either 1/3 or 2/3 sections. depending on rod size and length.
The internal rear rod racks are also in 1.3
sections with a spare, 1/2 height section
supplied for those much thicker rods
Mineral Insulated Element
In Kilncare tradition, the kiln is ultra-safe. The element is protected by a steel sheath making it impossible for the element to be accidentally touched. This also ensures that the kiln elements can be safely left running whilst the mandrel is placed
The real benefit of the design of this kiln though is its superb efficiency. Tests with its main competitor show that the MAXI uses between 35% and 40% less electricity over the same 8 hour garaging period and 5 hour annealing cycle.
2 additional half Boards are supplied that bring the lower floor level with the front edge so making for a flat floor which may be preferable for off mandrel applications.
Stainless steel doors with thumb flick catch
The stainless steel doors cements the MAXIs position as the finest of ALL Bead Annealing Kilns.
The doors have a thumb throw door catch that automatically keeps the door in the closed position but opening of the door is still a single handed “flick” operation.
The handles are covered with our unique COOL handles heat resistant sheathing.
Pick your colour from the company that bought you the original PINK mainstream kiln, the MAXIne.
In standard form the MAXI is Kilncare Ultramarine Blue and the MAXIne is pink (this kiln set a trend across the world).
However, you can choose your prefered colour for a small colour change fee.

KCR2 Standard Maxi/Maxine Control
The KCR2 has been designed for ease of use. There are no menus or masses of buttons to confuse!
All values are accessed using the step (black) key, adjustments are done using the up and down (blue) keys and the controller is started and stopped using, the start/stop (green/red) key. Simple.
Whilst the KCR2 is controlling the kiln, it shows the kiln temperature, whether the kiln is heating or cooling, the present segment number and if the kiln is running or not.
The control has 9 fully adjustable program, each program has 9 adjustable segments, each segment consists of a rate of climb/cool, a target temperature and a hold time.
A start delay can be entered.
There is a pause feature the enables the user to "freeze" the temperature at any given time during the process. Whilst the controller is in pause mode the display alternates between the kiln temperature and "PAUSEd". An audible sounder also beeps every minute or so as a reminder that the kiln is paused.
The KCR2 will show how much electricity has been used during the present/last firing.
Whilst firing the controller can be forwarded to the next segment if required.
The KCR2 has all the usual safety features such as broken thermocouple detection, over temperature protection and various kiln fault alarms.
