We are now, for the first time ever, selling a small range of kilns, that accommodate the "beginner" or "budget" end of the market, which are not produced by ourselves. However, as with all of our kilns, the back up and support that we offer for this range is first class.

Mercury

The Mercury is aimed straight into the bottom end of the market, combining speed, versatility, and a top temperature of 1300°C. The Mercury, as with the rest of the Hobby family, is ideal for ceramics and small glass projects. It comes complete with a [3300/1 (3300/2 on the Mercury plus)] Controller and kiln furniture. The kiln is on castors and comes fitted with a 13A plug top. The Mercury's furniture set comprises of 2 refractory shelves and 12 props.

Mercury glass as the standard Mercury but fitted with a [3300/3 control], type K thermocouple and a maximum temperature of 1050c. It comes with one shelf only.

Aurora

The Aurora is next in size. Apart from the increase in size, the maximum temperature also alters to 1260°C. As with the Mercury, the Aurora comes complete with the [3300/1 (3300/2 on the Mercury plus) ] Controller, kiln furniture set, a 13A plug fitted, and is castor mounted. The Aurora's furniture set comprises of 3 refractory shelves and 36 props, 3 sets of stilts, and 1kg of batwash.

Aurora glass as the standard Aurora but fitted with a [3300/3 control] , type K thermocouple and a maximum temperature of 1050c. It comes with one shelf only.

Comet

The big brother of the family is the Comet. This kiln offers real capacity for an excellent price. It has a maximum temperature of 1300°C and comes complete with a [3300/1 (3300/2 on the Mercury plus) ] Controller, furniture set, and is also castor mounted. As the Comet is 5kw, it will require connecting to a suitable single phase electricity supply by a qualified electrician. The Comet's furniture set comprises of 3 refractory shelves and 36 props, 3 sets of stilts, and 1kg of batwash.

The Mercury, Aurora and the Comet all have safety switches to isolate power to the elements when the lid is opened. Each unit comes with a CE Certificate, 36 months guarantee (on all parts except elements), brick lids, and can be operated from any control in the KILNCare range.
